Travel Information
By plane
The Vienna International Airport (VIE) is situated about 30 minutes from Downtown Vienna. For transfer, we suggest the SchnellbahnS7 (3.90 EUR, linked webpage in German). A second option is the somewhat fasterCity Airport Train (CAT) (11.00 EUR). Both trains stop at station Landstraße/Wien Mitte with connections to the subway (U4, U3) and several tram and bus lines.
By train
Most trains coming from the neighbouring countries will arrive at Hauptbahnhof. The station is connected to the underground (Line U1) and to several tram lines.
In general public transport in Vienna is very well developped. More information and online underground and tram schedules can be found at the pages of the Wiener Linien.
By car
Since most of Vienna is a short-term parking zone (9 am to 10 pm), we cannot recommend arrival by car. However, expensive car-parks are available.
Hotels
We were able to negotiate special rates (incl. breakfast) with some Accor-Hotels in Vienna:
- Ibis Budget Wien Messe **: 41,- EUR for singles, 46,- EUR for doubles, Booking per email
- Ibis Wien Messe ***: 82,80 EUR for singles, 94,80 EUR for doubles, Booking per email

- Mercure Wien City **** (Hollandstrasse 3): 116.- EUR for singles, 134,- for doubles
- Mercure Grand Hotel Biedermeier ****: 116,70 for singles, 134,90 EUR for doubles, Booking per email
Conference setting
The conference will be held in the so-called "Gußhaus" of the TU Wien at Gußhausstraße 27-29 (1040 Vienna) in lecture hall EI 8. Detailed local maps can be found at the Uni-Wegweiser. The nearest underground station is called "Karlsplatz" and is serviced by the U1, U2 and U4 underground lines. If you are on the U1, station Taubstummengasse is a little bit closer.
